Super Duplex Steel SAF 2507 Bars are characterised by high chromium and molybdenum, along with lower nickel contents than austenitic stainless steels. The most used duplex stainless steel are the 2205 (22% Chromium, 5% Nickel) and the 2507 (25% Chromium, 7% Nickel); the 2507 is known as Super Duplex Steel SAF 2507 Bars and Rods due to its higher resistance to corrosion. The mechanical properties of Super Duplex Steel SAF 2507 Round Rods are approximately double those of singular austenitic steels, and resistance to stress corrosion cracking is far superior to SS 316 in chloride solutions. As has been pointed out elsewhere, Super Duplex Steel SAF 2507 Bars is one which actually covers a very wide range of materials with a broad spectrum of differing properties and therefore uses. At one end of the spectrum lie the more commonly produced steels such as Austenitic or Martensitic; whilst at the other end lay the highly specialised Super Duplex Steel SAF 2507 Round Bars, which has ductile or brittle transition at approximately -50 degrees.
