ASTM B574 Hastelloy C276 Rods is highly resistant to all concentrations and temperatures of hydrochloric acid, where it resists formation of grain boundary carbides in the weld HAZ, making it suitable for most chemical process conditions in the as-welded condition. ASME SB574 Alloy C276 Round Bars should not be used in oxidizing media or where oxidizing contaminants are available in reducing media.
Premature failure may occur if ASME SB574 Alloy C276 Bars is used where iron or copper is present in a system containing hydrochloric acid, where it provides resistance to pure sulfuric acid and a number of non-oxidizing acids. In additions, ASME SB574 Alloy C276 Rods has excellent resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking and to knife-line and heat-affected zone attack, which is resistant to stress corrosion cracking and pitting. Molybdenum is the primary alloying element in ASTM B574 Hastelloy UNS N10276 Round Bars which provides significant corrosion resistance to reducing environments. ASME SB574 Inconel C276 Round Bars is suitable for most chemical process applications in the as-welded condition.
