By means of its extremely alloyed chemistry - 4.5 percent molybdenum and 25 percent nickel, Alloy 904L Round Bars offers excellent chloride SCC resistance, general corrosion resistance and pittinghigher to SS 316L and SS 317L molybdenum higher steels.The addition of copper to Alloy 904L Bars gives it greatly improved resistance to strong reducing acids, particularly sulphuric acid. In the hot intense caustic solutions, corrosion resistance is mostlyresolute by the content of nickel for Grade 904L Round Bars. With a nickel content of 25 Percent, Grade 904L Bars has proven to be a good alternative to most conventional stainless steels.The cold work hardening rate of Grade 904L Rods makes it less machinable than Grade 410 and Grade 304.
