Kencotube is a specialized in manufacturing house of Monel Sheets and Plates, which is a group of nickel alloys, primarily composed of nickel (up to 67%) and copper, with small amounts of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon. Monel Sheets can be fabricated readily by hot- and cold-working, machining, and welding, which could also be easily welded, soldered, and brazed. Small additions of aluminium and titanium, which form Monel Plates, increase strength, particularly at high temperatures, making it useful in aerospace applications. While Monel Alloy Sheets has a number of advantages, it is far from the perfect metal, because the machinability of these alloys is poor because of their tendency to quickly work-harden. Monel Alloy Plates has excellent mechanical properties at sub-zero temperatures, which does not undergo a ductile-to-brittle transition even when cooled to the temperature of liquid hydrogen.

Monel Alloy 400 Plates shows excellent ductility and tough fracture characteristics over the temperature range of -320 Degree F with the maximum load increasing considerably with decrease in temperature. Monel 400 Sheets is particularly resistant to hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids when they are de-aerated. As would be expected from its high copper content, Monel Coils is rapidly attacked by nitric acid and ammonia systems. Monel Alloy Coils are most often found in chemical plant equipment due to their strong resistance to chemical corrosion.
